Nicole Gorsuch is best known for the creative costumes she designed for many high profile children’s programs including the NETFLIX 3-part feature Ivy & Bean.
During her 12 years designing for Disney Channel, Nicole was honored to be asked to design 17 different pilots and series, and was able to design 14 by working on multiple projects at the same time. Among those were many of the channels top rated shows including Good Luck Charlie and Girl Meets World, which inspired clothing lines sold in Target nationwide.
Nicole has designed shows with very different settings and tones, from the California-beach-set of Malibu Rescue, to post apocalyptic Jericho to Privileged, a fashion driven piece. She prides herself on rising to the challenges specific to each project, whether that’s creating original wardrobe for a hair metal band in I’m in the Band, or coming up with funny, cute (and also practical) costumes for an actual dog in Dog with a Blog.
With over twenty years working as a Costume Designer as well as the experience she gained as she worked her way up through every job in the costume department, Nicole has a thorough understanding of what makes a great team. She enjoys working with writers, directors, and show-runners to aid them in realizing their visions for the show, while doing everything she can to help define each character and the set tone through the costumes she designs.
Nicole’s love of costume design began at the age of 15 when she designed her first period costumes for the Living History Center’s Renaissance & Dickens Fairs. She went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design with an emphasis in historical costume. This background in period costume is what inspires the imaginative, fantasy and beautiful but accurate historical costumes for which she is known. Nicole draws on her love for period clothing mixed with modern to create the magic (and the magical) in the costumes she designs today.
In addition Nicole always strives to give the viewer something unexpected in her designs, for it is in that moment of surprise that we find joy, like a gift we didn’t expect to receive.
Nicole Gorsuch is a California native currently living in Los Angeles.
